Don't Worry, Be Happy

New at TWO TWO

Brazilian artist Romero Britto is one of the world’s foremost painters, serigraphers, and sculptors.  His eclectic art combines elements of cubism, pop art, and graffiti to create vibrant works of vivid color and imagery that express much-needed hope and optimism in these tenuous times.  His dazzling paintings are reminiscent of the bold colors and striking surrealism of legends like Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, as unique and distinctive as his own worldly upbringing.

Born in Jaboatao dos Guararapes, Brazil, Britto moved to Miami, Florida in 1989, where his career quickly began to flourish.  After being introduced to the founder of Absolut Vodka’s Absolut Art Ad Campaign, Britto was selected to reinterpret the famous bottle design, published and seen by millions across the globe.  This propelled him to the world stage, where he participated in prestigious international art fairs from FIAC Paris to the Art Salon in Hong Kong.  Since then, his works have been commissioned by renowned companies like Monsanto, Bain Capital, Pepsi, Phillip Morris, Academi, Disney, Pepsi, BMW, and Royal Caribbean Cruises.  His art was even used for Governor Jen Bush’s 2016 Presidential Campaign, and has been featured in well-known media including Forbes, Vanity Fair, and The New Yorker.  Furthermore, he was the featured Montreux Artist of the Year at the world famous Montreux Jazz Festival.

His playful paintings embody the lively vitality of Miami, Latin American and South American cultures in bold and dazzling color.  The dynamic energy of his works is exemplified in a very distinctive pop-cubist style, unlike anything else the world has ever seen.  His pieces contain a vibrant spirit that expresses an optimistic vision for a better future, where all peoples and cultures are united in the service of love and hope.  Notable pieces like “Pink Elephant,” “Spring,” and “Mother” have been exhibited at famous galleries including the Art Loft and Pop International Gallery.  Romero also founded the popular “Happy Art Movement,” a collective of artists whose mission is to inspire compassion, understanding, peace and love through their art, in a world that desperately needs it.

TWO TWO is proud to announce yet another exciting collaboration with a world renowned icon of art, pushing the boundaries of art for a better, more inclusive tomorrow.
